Potty Box Training Tips visit our dog potty blog
Training your dog to use the Potty Box is easy. In most instances, dogs living in apartments are used to using potty pads, only urinating on walks, or urinating on the balcony or patio of the apartment / condo.
How to Start
1. The Introduction - Initially introduce your dog to their Potty Box when you feel that they haven't urinated for a while and need to.
2. Using a familiar command - As your dog is walking on their Potty Box grass use a familiar command that you ordinarily use when walking them. Examples: "Go Potty", "Go Pee Pee", etc.
3. The reward - Be patient the first few times and don't let them come off the Potty Box until they have listened to your command and urinated. Once they have urinated get very excited and reward them with their favorite treat. This exercise should be repeated 3 or 4 times over the first week or so and you will be all set.
* Note: On the initial delivery we do scent the grass with a pet-friendly spray that attracts dogs to urinate in a designated area. This spray is 100% safe, is used by dog trainers, and can be found in any pet store. This is a very helpful tool in assisting with the training of your dog.
